For our final feast of the summer (due to lots of events and then a well needed holiday) before we return in September, we've harnessed the seemingly eternal sunshine, taken some of our fave dishes from our party pack and created a menu to enjoy in the garden with a glass of Richard Woodfine's Seer-Green-made natural, sparkling rosé cider which spent time fermenting on Pinot Noir skins. Get some pals together and enjoy the final Feast At Home this summer.

MENU  😎 

😎 We start with probably the best salad to eat when it's hot. One that reminds us of holidays in Italy, of sunny summer feasts and is something that brings a smile when eaten. Uber ripe Isle Of Wight tomatoes bring a brilliant meaty sweetness, ripped, dried sourdough soaks up the vinaigrette which is infused with the juice of said tomatoes, the cucumber brings the crunch and the basil that Italian herbal edge. Humble ingredients combining in harmony and SO delicious when made with the best produce. We have new friend Rich Woodfine's sparkling rosé cider (aged on Pinot Noir skins) this week, which will be a brilliant match, bringing acidity and juiciness in spades.

😎 Well where do we start? Meat, fish or veg? Each has a Middle-Eastern lean and is so good with the sides. Crunchy, caramelised, spice-rubbed chicken thighs scattered with za'atar? Home-smoked salmon fillet scattered with dill? Or a super-summery halloumi kebab with all those caramelised edges? All have a lovely salty tzatziki accompaniment. We've got a trio of salads to go with - an earthy, savoury, truffled tinged potato salad, a bejewelled, fruity, plump ptitim one and a slaw-like shredded one with a super-herby green dressing. Lay them out on the table and take your time enjoying them in the sun.

😎 With all this sun, local raspberries are bang in season and super juicy so we thought we'd bring back our 'tarte aux framboises' to celebrate them in all their glory. A creamy vanilla custard sits inside a short pastry case for you to top patisserie stylee with the raspberries before glazing them with a syrup of their juices. You aren't going to want to choose the 'no dessert' option this week.

WINE  😎 

SPARKING ROSÉ CIDER, Woodfine Wine, Seer Green, Bucks

Greg met Rich of Woodfine Wine a few weeks back and they instantly connected, taking for hours about sustainable farming, natural wines and more. His passion and dedication abound in this rare style of cider where the apple juices spends a portion of time fermenting with Pinot Noir skins, bringing glorious colour and a vinous edge to the cider. It's a joyous drink and the perfect match for this week's sunshine feast. See below for some notes Greg wrote on it after their meeting:

“An attractive, clear salmon pink colour. A nose that lives between both worlds – the cider brings an earthiness but with sweet, slightly tropical fruit that collides with candied strawberry and something familiarly 'wine like'. Dry and delicate in the mouth with a vital, racy acidity and lovely clarity of fruit(s) whilst also being ambiguous and intriguing. Harmonious and joyful to drink."
