CONTROVERSY 2019, BLACK BOOK WINERY - PINOT MEUNIER

£19.50

Black Book make wines out of an archway winery in Battersea. Sourcing fruit from Sussex, Essex and East Anglian vineyards, they make precise, acclaimed and unique wines from high quality British fruit and with our preferred, low intervention approach.

CONTROVERSY 2019, BLACK BOOK WINERY - PINOT MEUNIER

Grown in Sussex at Coombe Bottom Vineyard, just 35 miles from the winery the clear juice is whole bunch pressed from red grapes and fermentation is done with naturally occurring wild yeasts. The resulting white wine is aged for 7 months in old Burgundy barrels with frequent lees stirring to give it added complexity. A delicate, fragrant take on a grape most commonly used in sparkling wines. Raspberries and cherries abound with zesty, citrusy notes and lovely mouthfeel. A real treat and a rare find.
